vs. full WhatsApp platforms (WATI, Interakt, AiSensy)

These aren’t WordPress plugins — they’re hosted SaaS platforms that WooCommerce merely connects to, usually via Zapier or a basic integration. Different category, so here’s how they actually differ in practice rather than a misleading feature-for-feature table.

Konfyra WATI / Interakt / AiSensy
What it is A plugin that runs inside your WordPress install A separate hosted platform your number connects to
Monthly cost ₹0 (free) or a one-time Premium purchase ~₹1,000–₹15,000+/month, plus Meta’s per-conversation charges
Existing number Connect your own Meta Cloud API number directly Must migrate your number onto their platform
Scope Focused: WooCommerce order messaging done well Broad: multi-channel marketing, chatbots, CRM at scale
Best fit A WooCommerce store wanting order updates and simple replies A team running WhatsApp as a full sales/marketing channel

If you need broadcast marketing or multi-agent routing across many channels, one of these platforms is the more complete answer — this plugin is deliberately narrower and cheaper for stores that just want order updates on WhatsApp.

Installation guide

Two things to set up: your own Meta WhatsApp account, then the plugin itself.

1. Connect your WhatsApp Cloud API

1
Go to developers.facebook.com, log in, and choose My Apps → Create App → Business.
2
Find WhatsApp in the product list → Set up. This gives you a free test number, a Phone Number ID, and a temporary Access Token.
3
Add your own number under “To” to receive test messages. App Secret is under App Settings → Basic.
4
Create at least one Message Template (category “Utility” works for order updates) and wait for Meta’s approval — usually minutes to a few hours.

2. Install the free plugin

1
In wp-admin, go to Plugins → Add New, search “WhatsApp Business for WooCommerce,” click Install then Activate.
2
Go to WhatsApp Business → Settings and enter your Phone Number ID, Access Token, and App Secret from step 1.
3
Copy the Callback URL and Verify Token shown at the bottom of Settings into Meta’s Webhook configuration.
4
Under WhatsApp Business → Templates → Add New, write your message using merge tags like {{order_number}} and {{customer_name}}, then fill in the Meta Template Name and Language Code to match what Meta approved.
5
Under Settings → Consent, decide whether to require checkout opt-in before sending (recommended, and on by default).

3. Add Premium (optional)

1
Purchase Premium from your Konfyra account. You’ll receive a download link and a license key by email.
2
Upload and activate it the same way as the free plugin — it will show an error if the free plugin isn’t already active.
3
Return to WhatsApp Business → Settings, enter your license key in the new Premium section. Conversations, Message History, and Analytics menu items appear once it’s active.
